Participle I passive in this function usually denotes priority.
Being left alone, the girl fell asleep.
Note:Participle I being (from to be) is not used as an adverbial modifier of time, we use «while-phrase» or a clause instead.
Будучив Москве, я посетил Кремль. While in Moscow (= while I was in Moscow) I visited the Kremlin. Будучи мальчиком, я любил играть в футбол. When a boy (= when I was a boy) I liked to play football. Exercise 27. Replace the adverbial clauses of time by Participle I.
